ICT BOOKS FOR SCHOOLS

I have three Computer Science textbooks available for Junior Secondary Schools titled:

INTEGRATED INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

These books were approved by the Enugu State Ministry of Education for the 2021–2024 academic session, and were also selected by the Enugu State Examination Development Council (EDC) for Unified Examination use.

The books were written in line with the latest curriculum of the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC).

WHY THESE BOOKS WERE WRITTEN

During my time as an ICT Resource Person in teachers’ training programmes with UBEB, I observed that many government secondary schools have very few Computer Science teachers.

At the same time, many of the Computer Science textbooks available to students are too complex or outdated, making it difficult for students to understand the subject or develop interest in it.

Because of this, many students begin to lose interest in Computer Science, even though technology is now one of the most important skills in the modern world.

These observations inspired the writing of Integrated Information Technology textbooks.

WHAT MAKES THESE BOOKS DIFFERENT

The books are written to be:

• Simple and easy to understand

• Concise but comprehensive

• Student-friendly and self-explanatory

Students can read and understand the topics even without constant teacher supervision, which is very helpful in schools where Computer Science teachers are limited.

ACADEMIC STANDARD

The books are structured to meet WAEC examination standards, giving students a solid foundation in Computer Science education.

A thorough reading and understanding of the books can help students perform very well in their examinations.

Beyond Examination Success

Apart from helping students succeed academically, the books also introduce students to:
